EFG Harris Allday are here to help you to protect yourself from fraud and scams. Scammers can be highly sophisticated in their approach, finding new ways to access your financial and sensitive information.

To help protect yourself, you can find our guidance below:

  • Reject offers which come out of the blue, it is important to know who you are dealing with
  • Be aware of suspicious links, pop-ups and attachments which appear online or in an email – you may need to verify the sender of the message using the contact details you would normally use to communicate with them before opening
  • If you receive a message from a friend or colleague, and their tone of voice or behaviour seems suspicious, it is important to contact them by their usual contact details, to confirm whether it was genuine
  • Be aware of investments that appear too good to be true, you could lose all of your money
  • Before making an investment, check the FCA Register and Warning List to confirm who you are dealing with
  • Avoid being rushed or pressured into making a decision
  • Call back existing providers using the phone number on their official website
  • Do not give out personal details, such as bank details, PIN for your card, email address, password, address, or existing insurance, pension, or investment details
  • Choose your passwords carefully, using a mixture of upper and lower case, text, numbers and symbols – these should not be shared with anyone else

If you believe that EFG has contacted you, please ensure that it is actually us before providing personal information. If you have received an unexpected message, email, or phone call, please contact your Investment Manager on the telephone number which you would normally dial, regardless of any new details confirmed within an email.

If you believe that you have been scammed, or that your email address has been compromised, it is imperative that you contact us straight away, so that we can trace any funds which have let your account.
